Present Day Traditional Treatment
For the health care providers, treating obesity is surrendered as a futile effort. The methods employed in traditional care settings, fail hopelessly. The disease cascade associated with obesity is progressive. Slowly, the quality of life, the quality of health, and the quality of usefulness to others is taken away from the individual. Denial, loss of responsibility, and ignorance are just a small part of the global problem.
Traditional therapies of high carbohydrate portion control, exercise regimens, and calorie counting have failed miserably in treating patients with severe long-standing obesity. Quick fix surgical interventions, appetite suppressants, fat blocking pills, and liquid protein fasts are quickly decompensated by patient adaptive coping disorders.
